Tuina is an ancient art of healing that combines bodywork with movement to improve your health and put you on a path toward continued wellness. Tuina is a safe, effective, and convenient healthcare treatment that, through a combination of techniques such as massage, breathing exercising, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Meditation, provides real results in pain relief and emotional wellbeing.

During a Tuina treatment, you may sit on a stool, lay on a table, lay on a mat on the floor, or any combination of the above. You remain completely clothed throughout your treatment which will range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the goal of the session. This massage and bodywork aspect of Tuina helps address areas of pain, emotional stress, or both, but is only one part of the treatment. The other part is the incorporation of movement.

In Traditional Oriental Medicine, movement is life. Imagine a door that has not been opened in ages… The hinges have rusted and are much more resistant to movement. This is an apt metaphor for the human body in pain. “Rust” develops in your body as a result of stagnation, which leads to pain and discomfort. What Tuina treatments focus on is real, long lasting results that come from physical bodywork sessions combined with a bringing movement back to the body.
